Supporting the rehabilitation of the injured

On 15th June a team of BNMT counsellor was with Ambika Lamichhane, aged 40, being discharge from Nepal Orthopedic Hospital Jorpati, Kathmandu. She was from Nagarkot Municipality ward no. 6 Jitpur where her home has been seriously damaged. During the earthquake she injured her right leg and was admitted in Nepal Orthopedic Hospital where she was given a free health service by MSF. We conducted a one to one counseling session with her. She was happy to share her feelings and fears regarding the damage earthquake had in her life. Coming from a poor economic background along with injury she fears that life will get even harder however she also shared how she plans to move on after being discharge. She mentioned it is not only the physical injuries that affects you sometimes being able to share your problems also gives the immense support. Apart from that we also provided her with some relief materials which include food items, tents and other necessary items which will be of great importance and necessities once she returns back to her home town.
