Free Health Camp In Daman, Makwanpur

On 29th July 2015, BNMT conducted a Free Health Camp and Psychosocial Counselling to individuals and families affected by earthquake in Thaha Municipality, Daman – Makawanpur. Total 422 people from Ward Number 1 to 10 and 12 to 15 of Thaha Municipality directly benefitted from the Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Pediatric and General OPD services. Along with this, free medicines were provided as per the prescription. After the completion of the health camp Essential Medicines and a Medical Bed were handed over to Daman Primary Health Care Center (PHCC), Makawanpur which will be used for the treatment of those affected by the earthquake.

Likewise, Psychosocial Counselling was provided in the same premises to 17 teachers of Jana Kalyan Higher Secondary School after proper need assessment and in close coordination with the principal of the same school. The orientation package consisted of Psychosocial Education, Relaxation Techniques and few tips on Stress Management.

We would sincerely like to thank Mr. Riaz Khalil, Earthquake Response Team, Leader – AmeriCares, Dr. Kasturi Malla, Dr. Samaj Gautam, Dr. Bharda Hamal, Dr. Sushil Thapa, Dr. Pabitra Rayamajhi, Nurses Kabita Shrestha and Binita Shrestha, the female volunteers (20) from local school, Jana Kalyan Higher Secondary for their immense support and participation in conduction of the free health camp. The program was conducted in the premises of Jana Kalyan Higher Secondary School.
